While out walking the dog, someone mentioned there was a hummingbird nest near the garages. When I first saw it, there wasn’t a lot to see. It was high up and there was a mama bird sitting on the tiny nest. Since it was so high up, there was no way to no how many eggs were in the nest.

It was about two more weeks until we saw there were hungry babies in the nest.

From our vantage point, it looked like there were two tiny beaks though it was difficult to tell. I then tried to figure out how to get a better photo without carrying a ladder down to where the nest was located. I wrote Give Your Phone Camera a Boost With Selfie Stick as the solution.

Once I had a selfie stick in hand, I returned to the nest to get more photos.

Note that in both situations I kept the camera well away from the babies (and mama) and did nothing to disturb the nest.
